About Laughing Bear Ventures

Laughing Bear Ventures is Mark Laughing Bear (Shashdlohi) and Annette Mama Bear (Ama Shash). Click the links to learn more about them.

Laughing Bear Ventures evolved from Laughing Bear Enterprises. "Enterprises" was a term already in use on the Internet, so Shashdlohi searched for a new term. "Ventures" came up in a synonym search at and really fits a bit better. Ventures bring the image of a journey and that's what this is all about. You can read about the journeys in the About pages. In essence, Shashdlohi and Ama Shash have found a new path, different from what could be considered the norm among their society. While this site does offer products for sale, it's the reason beyond those products that inspires them. The Red Road is a spiritual journey that carries the traveler along. As a result, every time a new product is imagined and then created, it is done in A Good Way. That means that prayers and feelings are breathed into each piece, giving each a bit of the Spirit of the artist.

Laughing Bear Ventures evolved even further as Ama Shash became more and more productive. Soon, it became apparent that she needed to have a "presence" of her own. Ama's Originals was born. Since she also had the most to offer at the time, her portion of this web site was the first to appear. As Shashdlohi began to build on his products, it didn't make sense to call his portion the same thing as the top level. After thinking about it a bit, Laughing Bear Works was born.

Both sites represent works from the heart, inspired by Creator and made for you.

Time passed, as did miles, and now Laughing Bear Ventures is located in Southwestern New Mexico. A small town, located about 50 miles north of the middle of nowhere, serves as the new growth location. Both LaughingBear and Ama have expanded their journeys to include blogging.

The LaughingBear Journey is the same blog that existed previously, documenting his travel through spirit and life. It has been relocated to live here with Laughing Bear Ventures at The LaughingBear Journey.

He has also started another, in January of 2014, called Getting Ready for What If. Think of it as following someone who doesn't know what's coming, but wants to be ready for whatever it might be.

Ama, also in January of 2014, began reviewing books. At first it was just a post on Amazon or at GoodReads. But LB pushed her to begin putting her reviews on the web, and soon was born Snuggle Books. It would seem, as of April 2014, that her reviews are not only popular, but sought after! She has had three authors ask her to review their books, and she is becoming more and more involved in something called "blog tours".

You can find updates in the News sidebar of the main web site, and here for more detail, and on the individual blogs. We sincerely appreciate you stopping by and hope you enjoy your visit. :)
